Stirling Goes Carbon Neutral

Wed., June 11, 2008. 11:01.

Stirling takes a lead on climate change

Today marks the launch of perhaps the most ambitious community carbon reduction project ever seen in Scotland, Going Carbon Neutral Stirling. £750,000 towards the scheme will be provided by the Climate Challenge Fund, a joint project between the Scottish Green Party and Scottish Ministers (1), with other funding provided by the Big Lottery Fund.

Patrick Harvie MSP said:

"Stirling has a vision on how to go carbon neutral, and their efforts will inspire others to follow. When the history of our work to beat climate change and develop a truly sustainable low carbon Scotland is written, this will be seen as a crucial day.

"We wish them well, and would like to encourage others to visit climatechallengefund.org to find out more and apply for money to support their ideas in this area."
