Nuclear Power: Still No Thanks
Nuclear power:
- is unsafe
- is uneconomic
- is unsustainable
- is not a solution to climate change
- produces highly radioactive toxic waste
- creates terrorist targets
- is unnecessary.
There are other ways of meeting our energy demand – we don’t need to risk disaster, waste money, cause pollution, add to radioactive waste and create more targets for terrorists.
The opportunities for sustainable, safe, reliable energy sources are there – all Scotland needs now is a government that is prepared to take its responsibilities to the taxpayer, and obligations to future generations, seriously.
More Information
In the last parliament, Scottish Green MSPs issued an information booklet to guide people through the myths which the nuclear industry is using to contaminate a balanced debate on the issue.
The party has also produced a flyer setting out the positions of the parties on nuclear power.
