Your Green Candidates
Shiona Baird
Shiona Baird MSP has worked hard for the people
of North East, campaigning on issues from better
public transport and renewable energy to essential
rural services and local food production. Shiona
has argued strongly for massive roadbuilding
funds, such as the planned Aberdeen Bypass, to
be diverted to much-needed rail and bus service
improvements to reduce congestion and pollution.
George Baxter
George Baxter has worked for and supported environmental
and community campaigns for over 15 years. He is especially
dedicated to tackling climate change, promoting sustainable
business and regenerating fish stocks to support prosperous
fishing communities.
Shiona and George will work to
- deliver vital improvements to rail and bus services, not major road and airport expansion;
- help local business and social enterprises flourish and give communities more of a say in planning decisions;
- make the North East a world renowned centre for jobs in renewable energy;
- provide warm, affordable, energy efficient homes for all;
- protect & improve public services – the NHS, Education, Water.
Shiona says
I will continue to work hard for my constituents by promoting public transport, renewable energy businesses, social enterprises and local food from local farmers. I will continue the campaign against the relentless march of the Big 4 supermarkets and promote the smaller independent shops which keep town centres alive.
George says
While the old-style parties offer ‘green’ gimmicks and no real change, people are voting Green because we offer hope for a better Scotland.
Re-elect Shiona Baird and elect George Baxter
