Mark Ruskell
Mark Ruskell has worked hard for the Mid
Scotland and Fife region as MSP, campaigning on issues
ranging from public transport to ship to ship oil
transfers and planning. He has been a strong
force on the Parliament Environment and Rural
Development Committee and has established
himself as Holyrood’s leading voice on climate
change and GM crops.
Elaine Morrison
Elaine Morrison has extensive experience working in education,
housing and sustainable energy. She chairs Solar Cities Scotland,
is on the board of Community Self Build Scotland and is a
member of the Scottish Council for the Single Homeless. Elaine
has practical expertise in sustainable housing and community
benefit from renewable energy that she would bring to the
Parliament. She lives near Dunkeld and currently works for an
organisation which helps to lift people out of fuel poverty.
Mark and Elaine will work to
- deliver vital improvements to rail and bus services;
- support local high streets and post offices;
- protect the local environment from threats like ship to ship oil transfers and waste incinerators;
- stop Trident nuclear convoys, invest in community renewable energy – not nuclear power;
- tackle poverty, provide affordable energy efficient homes.
Mark says
We are the only party that sticks to its principles to protect people, the environment and the economy from climate change – the biggest threat we all face.
Elaine says
I will seek commitments to investment in renewables to rebuild our manufacturing economy and improve our housing stock to help fight fuel poverty.
