Lothians Region
In 2003, Lothians Region had the highest Green vote in the country, and returned two Green MSPs, with 12% of the vote. Greens were in a clear fourth place in the region, well ahead of the Liberal Democrats.

Robin Harper
Robin Harper is Co-Convener of the Scottish
Greens and a Lothians MSP for 8 years. He
is a passionate campaigner against the loss
of green space across the region. He is also
highly-regarded for his work in schools and
with young people.
Mark Ballard
Mark Ballard is the Greens’ Transport
spokesperson, and was elected as the
second Lothians Green MSP in 2003. As well
as his commitment to sustainable transport,
Mark has worked tirelessly to promote local
high streets over aggressive supermarket
expansion.
Ruth Cameron
Ruth Cameron is Convener of the
Scottish Young Greens, and works as a
climate change campaigner. She is a former President of
Edinburgh University Students’ Association and has fought
hard to improve access to education for all young people.
Greens in Lothians will
- support trams and the re-opening of the South Suburban line; better bus and rail links for West Lothian and Midlothian;
- protect the Green Belt, encourage local high streets not out- of-town shopping centres;
- end the PFI/PPP scheme, defend public services and protect local hospitals and schools.
