Map_Of_Central_Region/ Central Region is made up of the Holyrood constituencies of Airdrie & Shotts, Coatbridge & Chryston, Cumbernauld & Kilsyth, East Kilbride, Falkirk East, Falkirk West, Kilmarnock & Loudoun and Motherwell & Wishaw.

In the 2003 elections, Greens scored 4.7% of the vote, just 1.2% short of taking the a list seat from the Liberal Democrats. A swing of 1500 voters would be more than enough to unseat the LibDems.

About your Green candidates

Kirsten Robb

Kirsten Robb/Kirsten Robb manages an Environmental Trust and is from East Kilbride. She is an active campaigner for eco-friendly schools, local health services and fair trade.

Gary Dunion

Gary Dunion/Gary Dunion is an anti-poverty campaigner and a former outdoor educator and football coach. His interests include promoting local economies and youth participation.

Kirsten and Gary will work to:

  • provide warm, energy efficient and affordable homes;
  • fight NHS privatisation; defend and improve local health services;
  • revitalise town centres, create lasting jobs and clean up the urban environment;
  • invest more in reducing and recycling waste and in community renewable energy ditch the M80 expansion; make huge improvements to rail and bus services.

Kirsten says:

Central Scotland needs a Green MSP to help tackle the poverty and environmental degradation that have blighted the area for too long. As your MSP, I’ll help you create a better future.

Gary says

Local people, not distant government and corporations, know what’s best for the people of Central Region. I’ll work to give more power to communities and, as the youngest MSP, improve opportunities for our young people.
