Rhonda is Convenor of the Scottish Greens’ Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Branch.  She has spent many years campaigning against the AWPR and Incinerators, and for local woodland regeneration, home insulation, recycling and more investment in renewable energy for Aberdeenshire.

Elaine Morrison

Argyll and Bute

Elaine has worked across Scotland supporting communities to take action on issues such as housing, poverty and renewable energy.  She now lives in Inveraray and works as a freelance consultant and researcher specialising in green energy and community development.  Elaine was the Greens’ lead candidate in the 2009 European Elections.

Alis Ballance

Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale

Alis is Convenor of the Dumfries and Galloway branch of the Scottish Green Party.  She is also a founder of the community-owned environmental charity, Moffat CAN which, since its launch in May, has raised around half a million pounds towards energy efficiency, local food and recycling for the town.

Kirsten Robb

East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow

Kirsten was born and raised in East Kilbride and lives there with her partner and son. A recognised and experienced Green she was founding member of the East Kilbride Development Trust and local fairtrade group. She is committed to serving the public as a Green politician, not racking up directorships or outrageous expenses. She wants to work for jobs in a sustainable economy, for more social rented housing and against cuts to vital local services.

James Mackenzie

East Lothian

James Mackenzie is 37 and works in Edinburgh for Green MSPs Robin Harper and Patrick Harvie. He has previously worked for the Centre for Human Ecology, the Scottish Refugee Council, and for Holyrood’s first two Presiding Officers, Sir David Steel and George Reid.

Kate Joester

Edinburgh North and Leith

Kate is a health promotion worker and mental health trainer.  She has lived in Edinburgh North & Leith for 13 years, and loves its diverse and enterprising communities.  Her background is in equalities and peace activism; her driving force is bringing together social justice and sustainability to make Edinburgh better for all its citizens.  She lives in Wardie with her partner and two small children.

Steve Burgess

Edinburgh South

Steve is the Green Councillor for Southside/Newington in Edinburgh.  He was previously a medical research scientist, worked for Greenpeace (including a tour on the Rainbow Warrior II) and then led the Green MSPs’ research team in the Scottish Parliament for 4 years.  Steve has previously been a Green candidate for the Scottish Parliament and the Westminister constituency of Edinburgh South.

Clare has lived in Edinburgh for 15 years, is a mother and runs her own camera hire business.  She joined the Greens five years ago and has taken on a variety of administrative roles in that time.

Alastair Whitelaw

Glasgow Central

Alastair is an administrator at Glasgow University. Married with two children, he is an active trade unionist with particular interest in Health and Safety at work. He believes it essential to maintain and improve public services, opposing marketisation in fields like health and fully supporting renationalisation of the railways. Alastair has stood for the Greens many times before at both local and national level. He is also active in the local arts and ornithological communities.

Martin is a doctor working for NHS Glasgow, and was the Green candidate for Kelvin (Holyrood) in 2007 where the Greens were given their highest vote in Scotland.

Moira Crawford

Moira is a retired secondary school teacher, who worked in schools in Drumchapel, Maryhill, Possilpark and Shettleston.  She believes that it’s time for a breath of fresh air and a complete change from the old, failed politics.  Moira thinks the economy should serve the people by making the creation of new jobs a priority.  We can and must build a fairer, safer, greener society.

Marie is Convenor of the Scottish Young Greens.  She works in Patrick Harvie MSP’s Glasgow office on local campaigns, in particular supporting community groups to preserve precious green spaces.  She’s passionate about life, people and the potential for a greener, more just, more equitable world.

Sue Edwards

Sue is a mother of two, who runs a small business in Aberdeenshire.  She is an active opponent of Donald Trump’s proposed development on the dynamic sand dunes north of Balmedie; and the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route – which will take spending away from education in the county. She firmly believes our young folk are our future and deserve the best education we can provide.

Ian Baxter

Ian is convenor of the Midlothian Green Party. He is a self-employed bookkeeper and has been involved in community activities in Bonnyrigg for 30 years.  He is chairman of Bonnyrigg & Lasswade Community Council and, as a French speaker, has been closely involved with the town’s twinning activities with St Cyr L’Ecole in France.

Hilary Charles

Originally from Perth, Hilary lived for over ten years in Blackford, when she spent much of her time fundraising for community projects.  She is now based in Auchterarder and works for Perth & Kinross Council as a Tenant Liaison Officer.  Having worked in the renewables industry and participated in SPREG, Hilary recognises the importance of green energy and green jobs to Scotland’s future prosperity..

Mark Ruskell

Stirling

Mark was a Green MSP between 2003 and 2007.  He began his career developing antipoverty projects in urban communities, before moving into rural regeneration work.  At Holyrood he led the successful campaign against Forth oil transfers, worked on climate change and GM crops and fought for community ownership of land.  Since 2007 he has worked in conservation and renewable energy.
